Overview
Of all the initiatives I worked on at Alpian, Savings Accounts stands out.
It was the first project I led end-to-end, delivering a long-awaited feature that brought real value to users and drove exponential business growth.
The company
Alpian is Switzerland's first digital private bank, offering a mobile-first banking experience that combines everyday banking with personalized investment and private banking services.
The problem
To enhance client engagement and increase assets under management, the business identified a key missing feature: savings account. By introducing a dedicated savings option, clients would be encouraged to set aside a portion of their earnings, work towards financial goals, and earn interest on their savings, creating value for both the user and the business.
The goal
Design a seamless and user-friendly savings account feature that empowers users to set aside money effortlessly while working towards their financial goals.
My role & responsibilities
As Lead Product Designer, I led the UX and UI design efforts, focusing on gathering business requirements, crafting wireframes, and refining them into high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes, presenting solutions to the business.

UX exploration and first iterations
At the start of the initiative, multiple stakeholder meetings helped me dive deep into the problem space, clarifying business goals and user pain points. This process allowed me to refine the scope and develop proposals that were continuously iterated until the first MVP was validated.
Mid-fi prototype
A mid-fidelity Figma prototype of an initial suggested version is available here, showcasing a comprehensive happy path across multiple flows. This version covered a first set of use cases, used to validate key interactions and user journeys. The final version was carefully reduced to the essential features needed to deliver the MVP and meet business deadlines.

What I learned
Integrating savings into a private banking experience required balancing simplicity with financial empowerment. Users value trust and transparency in financial products, so I made sure to focus on clarity of the UX writing and visual design.
